Slimstone™
SlimStone by TAB India is the next evolution in stone cladding. Whether you are looking to make a bold architectural statement or simply want the classic, elegant look of natural earth tones, SlimStone can provide the perfect touch. SlimStone is a high density, low porosity sandstone veneer that is custom cut to size and available in a range of thicknesses. The product is available in a myriad of colors and finishes to suit any project. Traditional stone cladding consists of 3”-5” thick tiles which are expensive, bulky, and require mechanical anchors for support. SlimStone, by comparison, offers the same strength and durability the builders and architects look for, but can be adhered directly to the substrate with thin-set mortar. Due to the fact that these tiles weigh less than one third of traditional materials, no additional bracing is needed, which saves time and money. The result is a beautiful natural stone veneer at a fraction of the price.
Features
Since this is a natural stone, the material will develop an aged weathered look over time. However, the durability of SlimStone is such that it will stand up to the test of time.
SlimStone is used in such applications as wall cladding, columns, sills, and landscape walls. Its ability to withstand freeze/thaw cycles means that it can be used in nearly any environment.
With the number of colors and finishes available, SlimStone is an excellent choice for a wide variety of interior uses.
Properties
Due to its density of 2.32 to 2.42 Kg/m3, SlimStone has a water absorption capacity of no more than 1.0%.
Indian sandstones have a rating 6 to 7 rating on Moh’s hardness scale, making them some of the hardest sandstones on earth.
The compressive strength of SlimStone is between 365 and 460 Kg/m2, depending on the color.
